Happy Parents

What we have been doing

Want to know more about how we work?

As a group we try to gather parents' points of view, influence change and keep parents informed.  We do this in several different ways:

Consultations – We published a Questionnaire for parents in 2011 to obtain their views and concerns. In 2013 we asked parents and carers for their experiences and suggestions for information and support about bullying (you can download our report or the summary from the Have Your Say page). In 2014 we have asked parents and carers what they want Parents' Voice to do in the future and passed on feedback to Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board. We also pass on details to our members of any consultations we know about which may be relevant to them.

Worcestershire Children's Trust – As a group we have a seat on the Worcestershire Children's Trust Executive Board. This is a group of professionals who are working to improve Worcestershire and safeguarding for children, young people and their families.  Our representative shares parents' views and influences the decisions made.

National Consultations – we have taken part in national consultations giving Worcestershire parents an opportunity to influence national decisions. We also include details of some national consultations on our Have Your Say page.

Information - we pass on varied information to our supporters of anything which may be relevant to them or their families. For example, we have sent out details of the County Council's Reviewed Short Breaks Statement, a Youth Question Time event, Life Beyond School events, updates of the Council's Early Help Strategy and details of free workshops.

Publicity – we produce newsletters and flyers. We also have postcards and business cards to promote Parents' Voice; please contact us if you would like some for a parents' group or to distribute at a venue.
